I have been sailing for over 40 years. Initially, I participated and excelled in the Navy sailing program in San Diego, CA. The largest vessel that I skippered was a 65’ Midway Catamaran.

I Captained aboard this catamaran for many years in Key West, Fla. It was 3 trips a day for 5 or 6 days a week. I typically spend over 100 days per year as a Captain.

I am known as a Multihull guy. I’ve owned over 10 catamarans and one trimaran (Dick Newick 36’ trimaran). I designed and built 70 miniature boats for use in a watersports company. I have crossed the gulf stream southbound from Key West over 200 times.

I spent most of my time sailing in San Diego, Florida Keys and the Caribbean. My strong points are Piloting & Navigation, Anchoring, Sail handling/reefing, Docking/Maneuvering under sail and power, Rules of the Road,

Familiar with engines/generators/ battery charging systems and with GPS/ Chart Plotters.
